This one was inspired by one of my translation classes i´m joining this term.
It´s kanbun and we´re translating old chinese texts that already have been translated into classical japanese into german.
Youkihi is a character from such an old chinese tale. She was one of the emperor´s wives. Better to say: she was the only one out of almost 3000 (!!) who had all the emperor´s love and affection. The emperor loved her SO much that he neclected everything else. Even politics.
One day while Youkihi was dancing her wonderful feather´s dance for the emperor there suddenly was the sound of war drums. Youkihi died and since that day the Emperor wasn´t able to find any happyness anymore.
He missed her so much, that he sent out a saint who was abel to call the souls of the dead. And this man found Youkihi in the underworld.
